Countdown to the World Rapid & Blitz Cadet Chess Championship: What you need to know
Excitement fills the air, promising an unforgettable tournament experience! Here are a few things you need to know!
1) Arrival Details:
April 25th marks the arrival day for participants and guests at “Mother Theresa” Tirana International Airport (TIA).
Please look for the info desk with the logo of the event (which will be in the airport arrival area) and we will accompany you to the shuttle bus.
The drive from TIA to Durres is estimated to be approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
If you haven’t sent your flight details yet, please inform us ASAP at worldcadetrb@fide.com, for smooth coordination.
2) Registration and Badge Collection:
Upon arrival at the hotel, registered participants and accompanying persons are required to collect their badges from the hotel lobby, starting from 25th April, at 11.00.
This marks the official beginning of their championship journey!
3) Technical Meeting:
An important Technical Meeting for Heads of Delegations and interested parents is scheduled for April 26th at 10:00.
This meeting provides an opportunity to address important matters and ensure you have all the information you need.
4) Opening Ceremony:
The Opening Ceremony is set to commence at 14:00 on April 26th, signaling the official start of the championship.
Players and dignitaries will come together to inaugurate the event!
5) Detailed schedule & Event Updates:

Regular updates will be provided to ensure all participants and spectators are well-prepared for the action-packed days ahead.
6) Closing Ceremony and Certificate Presentation:
The championship concludes with the Closing Ceremony on April 28th at 19:00, where achievements will be celebrated, and memories cherished.
By then we will have World Champions in 12 categories (U8, U10, U12 * Open & Girls * Blitz & Rapid)
Certificates of Participation will be presented to all participants on April 28th from 17:00 to 18:30 in the hotel lobby, serving as a tangible reminder of their unforgettable participation in the championship.
